Yorkshire in Bloom Summer Judging 2008
Judges Sue Hoyle and Lee Senior will visit the village on the morning of 24 July 2008. Hambleton DC will be sweeping the streets in 23 July, so please keep your cars off the road wherever possible.

Appleton in Bloom Quiz
The quiz held on Saturday 23 February 2008 in the Village Hall was an outstanding success. Almost 120 people took part and we raised over £700 for Appleton in Bloom funds. Thanks to all who took part and all helpers.

Tub Planting
We have new teams looking after the tubs this year:

Sue & Hamish Joyce, Carol Donne & Margaret Lamb are looking after Front Street tubs.

Anne Golding the Hornby Road tubs.

Tricia Partington the Baker Street tubs and Church Walk "coffins".

Angela & Kevin Carlin the Front Street (south) tubs, Angela is also looking after the Millennium Trough.

Anne Robson the Prospect View tubs.

Pam Cotterill and Ann Wilkinson the Hunter's Ride tubs.

Anne Golding the St Mary's East Wall "coffin". Anne and Angela are also covering the new Village hall planters with help from Mike Lloyd.

Wildflower Area/Riverside Walk
Olwen Young and Max Upton are taking care of the Wildflower Area and Olwen has asked that anyone interested in the environmental aspects of our work to contact her.

Mowing & Strimming
As always Simon is looking for volunteers for the mowing rota for this summer.
